A major chord or arpeggio has a root, a major 3rd and a perfect 5th. In a diatonic major scale we have major arpeggios starting in the I, IV and V degrees, modes Ionian, lydian and mixolydian, respectively. This example it´s an A major, so the notes would be A, C# and E…

Here´s some examples with 2 strings major arpeggios.

Here´s some 5 strings arpeggios. This is another basic shape in E major. Remember that we can play it with alternate or sweep picking.
